Brought up in a devout and cultured Shia family Yavar heard his father recite ANEES with passion and panache every year during the month of Moharram. He is much in demand for his recitations of ANEES in Britain, America, the gulf countries and, of course, India.

BBC Broadcaster, internationally acclaimed film-maker & a renowned reciter of the marsiyas of the Urdu poet Meer Babar Ali Anees of 19th century Lucknow. Yavar himself has close family connections to the great poet & is much in demand around the world among the marsiya officianados for his renderings of Anees in the classical style known as Tahtul Lafz.
